FACA (Florida) Executive Board Votes to Activate NATS
November 28, 2006

The Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA) has voted to activate AFCA’s NATS program. FACA is the 13th Coaches Association to activate the NATS program nationally. FACA will conduct three NATS Tests in the spring/summer of 2007 (Jacksonville, Miami, and Tampa.)
FACA Executive Director Wink Barnette said "I invited NATS representatives to present at our annual FACA Convention in Daytona in July. The response from the presentation was overwhelmingly positive. Subsequently, our executive board voted to move forward with this valuable program and become an active NATS State."
FACA State Football Chairman Shelton Crews said "I think every coach went into that presentation with a sense of skepticism. But it didn’t take long for the members of our Association to realize that NATS is not only a program which Florida needed to activate, but that every state in the country needs to activate."
"Needless to say, I am thrilled that the state of Florida has become the 13th state to activate the NATS program" said AFCA Executive Director Grant Teaff. Coach Teaff added "It’s no secret that Florida is widely considered to be a hot bed for college football recruiting. I’m sure FACA’s vision and decision to activate the NATS program will not go unnoticed."
NATS Director of Development Martin W. Rauch, Jr., who provided the presentation at the FACA convention, said "Our Executive Director Grant Teaff has given this program a very clear directive to build it slow and build it right. There is no question the activation of Florida is a perfect example of this directive. I would like to also thank Wink Barnette and his Association for the time and analysis put in before voting to take ownership of the NATS program in the state of Florida."
