NATS Annual Board of Review Meeting held at AFCA Convention
January 31, 2006
The NATS annual BOR meeting was also held during the AFCA 2006 Convention. Grant Teaff dropped by to thank the attendees for their effort on behalf of the student athletes, high school coaches and college coaches. Attendees included representatives from each active NATS state and the college divisions. Reports by NATS staff addressed college coach usage of the NATS database, state development progress, NFL team participation, NATS Test procedures as well as media and financial reviews.
New Jersey NATS State Director Shawn Poppe said “The BOR reports provided the substantive information that my association will be very happy to hear about. On average, 96% of the players tested by NATS are having their NATS Online Player Profile viewed by college coaches from 290 schools in 49 states. These are amazing numbers considering NATS is only a year old!”
Tim Dougherty, NATS State Director for Illinois and Vice Chairman of the BOR, observed, “The BOR meeting was a testimony to the power of NATS, with coaches from all levels joining forces for the betterment of the game and doing the right thing for the players.”
Next year’s NATS-BOR meeting will be held at the 2007 AFCA Convention in San Antonio.
NATS tests are presently scheduled for the states of Washington, Oklahoma, Maryland, New Jersey, Indiana, Illinois, Colorado, Nevada and Michigan in the spring of 2006.
