DIFCA Executive Board Votes to Activate NATS

May 30, 2006

NATS Logo The Delaware Interscholastic Football Coaches Association (DIFCA) has voted to activate the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) National Athletic Testing System (NATS) program. The DIFCA Inaugural NATS Test will be conducted in the spring of 2007. The DIFCA also announced that Wesley College, Delaware’s oldest private college, will host their Association’s Inaugural NATS Test.

DIFCA President Mark DelPercio said, “It’s never too early to get started on a positive project. The DIFCA wanted to start educating the 39 football playing high schools in our state as soon as possible about our Association’s decision to activate the NATS program.” Coach Delpercio added, “With almost an entire year of time, we feel we will be able to diligently prepare for our Inaugural NATS Test, and by doing so, provide our football players with athletic and academic opportunities they otherwise would not have had.”

AFCA Executive Director Grant Teaff said, “The goal for this program was to build it slow, and build it right. That barely a year after introducing the NATS program we already have 12 states participating greatly exceeds my expectations. I would like to congratulate the DIFCA for their vision and commitment, and welcome them to the ever growing NATS family.”
