2006 NATS Test Season a Huge Success

June 30, 2006

NATS LogoNATS has concluded an extremely successful 2006 Test season. Official high school coaches associations from ten states tested over 2,400 student-athletes from the classes of 2007-2010 at thirteen NATS Test sites across the country.

High school coaches associations in Washington, New York, Michigan and Oklahoma conducted their first NATS Tests this year, joining returning associations from Indiana, Illinois, Colorado, Nevada, Maryland and New Jersey.

The reason for that growth is simple, high school and college coaches are working together to create more scholarship opportunities for student-athletes who play the game of football,” stated AFCA Executive Director, Grant Teaff. He added, “More than 360 colleges are already using NATS for initial player evaluations. I believe it is just a matter of time before every college football program in America will be utilizing our NATS program.”

By testing players in speed, strength and agility drills and providing in-depth scoring and results analysis, NATS assists college recruiters with player evaluations and enables players to gauge their true baseline athletic ability against their peers across the country.

"I thought NATS was very good, very well organized. I liked the competitive aspect of it. I also liked the personal percentile rankings. Being able to see how I rank against everyone else across the country, I thought that was the most important aspect.” (Brent Sartin, Edmond Sante Fe HS)

40 Yard Dash"I think NATS was handled very well. It seems real good. It was very well put together. I love the fact that it's standardized across the nation and I can compare myself to kids across the nation. The results analysis is really cool.” (Nick Zeman, Ponderosa HS)

Student-athletes who participated in NATS also received valuable NATS Test online preparation videos and special interactive tools assuring them of the correct high school course schedule to meet NCAA academic standards.

“I was very impressed with the program. The Core Course Calculator is a great component. So many kids don't know what their core course GPA is. The Core Course Calculator is going to clear up a lot of confusion. I go into the NATS online components quite a bit. I learn something every time I log onto the NATS website." (Michael Hillard, Parent)

"I thought the NATS combine went very smoothly. The preparation video helped me quite a bit. Some of the drills I haven't done before, so the video explanations were really helpful. The videos were easy to understand and helped me prepare for the testing.” (Nate Estimada, Sierra Vista HS)

With many additional state coaches associations already committing to run NATS Tests next year, the 2007 schedule promises to expand further across the country, extending the benefits of the NATS program to even more student-athletes.
