High School Coaches, Welcome to NATS...
In recent years, the testing of our nation's high school football players has fallen largely into the hands of outsiders. In the last decade, a virtual cottage industry of high school "combines" and "resume" services has sprung up around the country.
High school football players have been targeted by an array of recruiting services, sneaker companies, sports promoters, software firms, media marketers and self-proclaimed recruiting "gurus" to promote their businesses.
NATS gives you and your coaches association the means to reclaim your rightful role and responsibility in looking out for the welfare of your players through the operation of your own nationally standardized testing and player information distribution network.
In 2000, the AFCA appointed a task force, comprised of high school and college coaches, to conduct a feasibility study of a nationwide athletic testing system. Once the study was completed, the coaches then designed an athletic testing system for high school football players, beginning as early as the ninth grade, along with an educational and interactive information system as well.
You'll find the TeamMate Core Course Calculator to be an amazing and indispensable tool in keeping your players on-track academically. The Player Locker allows your players to build their own athletic career resume. As their coach, you have online access to all your players' profiles and statistical data to analyze and compare your players to others throughout the country.
Most importantly, NATS has been designed by coaches for coaches and their players and parents. If your state coaches association is not yet involved in NATS, I urge you to begin the activation process by completing the NATS State Activation Information Request Form.
