NATS Grading System

NATS has developed an innovative and unique grading system to measure athletic ability. The NATS software scores each athlete in each NATS drill based on their performance relative to their size. Therefore, the athletic ability of athletes of all sizes can be compared equally. The five sub-grades and overall NATS Grade provide important tools for athletes to measure and compare their athletic ability and development with their peers.

PLAYER SIZE RATING

Each player is assigned a size rating, between 0.00-10.00, based on their height and weight measurements. The scale below shows average size ratings by graduating class.

Height is recorded to within 1/8" using FOUR numbers (Ex: 6014 is 6'1" 4/8"). The first number represents feet. The 2nd and 3rd numbers represent inches and will range from "00" to "11". The 4th number represents eighths of an inch and will range from "0" to "7."

NATS COMBINE SCORES

An average NATS Grade per drill for rising seniors is 10.00. Average grades for rising juniors, sophomores and freshman are approximately 1 point lower per year.
